Magnetic levitation kit designed and produced for CAN SUPERCONDUCTORS company. The main task was to demonstrate one of the possible applications of superconductors in a more fun way. In the design of the set, we started with the idea of introducing technology on a futuristic maglev train that sweeps on an imaginary track around CAN SUPERCONDUCTORS in Czech town Kamenice. The set is intended as an educational tool for schools or science centres as well as a tool for the company to popularise its technology among the professional audience at conferences around the world. To produce the main part of the “locomotive”, it was necessary to find materials that could withstand extreme hypothermia with liquid nitrogen. Which is mandatory for the function of superconductive disks used inside the train.
